Panama will show forest recovery thanks to green strategies

The data renewal of an outstanding woodlands and land use national map, dating from 2012, will prove favorable results for Panama since it will show that the actions and incentives for reforestation have stopped the green territory devastation.
This is explained to ACAN-EFE by the Forest Director of Panama's Ministry of Environment, Dalia Vargas, who since 2010 leads initiatives to facilitate the improvement and proper management of various forests in the country.
Although data from the state entity indicate that forest cover nationwide up to 2012 was between 51% and 52%, compared to 45% in 2000, this could show a large positive change when the new instrument is announced this year.
